This week John Mann MP joined seven leading UK charities to highlight World Cancer Day 2017.
Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Care, Breast Cancer Now, CLIC Sargent, Anthony Nolan, Bowel Cancer UK and Marie Curie have joined forces to make a bigger impact in transforming the lives of millions who are affected by cancer.
John Mann commented: “One in two people born in the UK will develop cancer at some point in their lifetime. The statistics also show that these figures are a lot higher deprived areas including in certain parts of Bassetlaw. Most of us have lost family members and friends to the horrific disease and we all share the hope that it’s something that can be eradicated or easily treated in future years.”
“I am keen to support this group of charities, who work so hard to support people and their families and put valuable resources into seeking new treatments and cures.”
“I know that a large number of local people raise money for cancer charities and their commitment should also be recognised.”
